Matt was born in 1947 into a Naval family and moved world wide until graduating from high school in Yokohama Japan. He joined the Army in 1968 at the rank of Private and retired in 1993 as a Colonel. Matt commanded airborne units in Alaska and an air assault infantry battalion in ODS. Married to my best friend for 49 years and have two sons, both Army officers.
