You would be blown away by the sheer number of our members who come to us and say: “I was duped and fooled by the person who claimed to be a professional editor…when what they turned out to be, was a professional fraud, because they clearly didn’t know what they were doing and were out to just take my money. Now, I am suffering from the embarrassment that they have caused me, by having published a book that wasn’t ready to be published.”
Because of countless situations like these, we can no longer stand by and allow our members to be ‘duped’ by everyone who wakes up in the middle of the night and decides they have come up with a great new way to pad their own pockets. The internet is over-flowing with these kinds of people, and sadly, some of them have taken up residence in RRBC. I, personally have been shocked to have members come to me (after having received negative reviews of their un-edited/un-proofed book) and say “Nonnie, I paid so-and-so to edit my book! I trusted them because they are a fellow RRBC member.”
We are aware that there is a HUGE need for quality literary services, and now, we’re going to do something about it! We’re going to point our members in the right direction, by offering a directory of those services, already vetted with our seal of approval! If they aren’t listed in the directory, then we advise you to use extreme caution in your utilization of their services.
