Join these two entertaining hosts as they rate the books that we all want to, and should read… even if we’re reading to give an honest review (opinion) of them.   Pat Garcia and John Podlaski are two of our top reviewers in the club and they post reviews on a pretty regular basis, so, who better to give an opinion than them?

With the internet trolls on the loose, you just can’t believe many of the reviews you read these days.  I mean, these trolls are on a mission to seek and destroy the greatest of written works, just because they can.  They’re not even real reviewers so we’ll just call them haters.

Enter our super-Reviewers!  They will do what real reviewers do, they will share the good, and sometimes even their constructive critiques of books, in hopes that they will help the authors become better, or to even share praise when warranted.  No worries, though, we’re not here to tear anyone’s work down.  We’re RATERS – NOT HATERS!

MEET THE CO-HOSTS:

Author, Pat Garcia:  

As a co-host of RNH, I will continue to provide to our audience the standards of what the show has stood for since its inception; leading with honesty and kindness being only two of those qualities.  What I hope to bring to the show, is the importance of sharing how a story grabs you as a reader.  I am a voracious reader who pulls from all genres to satisfy my literary appetite, regardless of whether it is fiction or non-fiction. In that respect, it doesn’t have to be a book from the genres that I write in.  But I am particular about how the author speaks to me through their writing.  I believe the writer’s voice can either wake a person up, or make the person go to sleep.  I also believe that good writers keep developing their writing voices as they continue to write. Thus, the writing voice, structure, and characterization, are things I will be looking for as I read any book to share my live reviews of on RATERS NOT HATERS. 

Author, John Podlaski:

John served in Vietnam between 1970 and 1971 as an infantryman with both the Wolfhounds of the 25th Division and the 501st Infantry Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division. The Army awarded him the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, two Air Medals, and a Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry among others.

John is a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154 and Rave Reviews Book Club. He and his wife Jan are both retired and live in Sterling Heights, MI; they recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.

As the newly appointed co-host of the RATERS NOT HATERS podcast, I plan to continue providing club members and listeners with honest reviews of their books and telling it like it is.
