  1. Hi Everyone–Here’s my five-star review of Tonya Penrose’s “Mountain Cassie.” I just posted it on Amazon but don’t have the link yet.

Old Mountain Cassie: The Three Lessons is a wonderfully written and conceived book with many intriguing side trips to keep the reader interested.

It’s the story of Lacey, who’s just moved to a small Mountain town called Divine. It’s not the stereotypical mountain town, where newcomers are rejected; rather, Lacey is welcomed by just about everyone in town and fits right in. Her best friend is Serene, the town’s real estate agent (or at least the best one), and Lacey and Serene have many adventures together.

I really enjoyed the way this author weaves the tale between Cassie and Lacey, as well as Lacey’s adventures through the town of Divine and her encounters with her out-of-town aunt. The writer’s skill at character development, dialogue and situational interactions is apparent throughout this delightful book. The author’s descriptions of Cassie’s philosophy and way of life is something that can potentially be translated into a way for all of us to live our lives throughout these uncertain times.

This book is appropriate for people of all ages who will enjoy a well-told tale. I recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for something creative and unique. I’m now anxious to read more from this author.
