  1. WOW Pat, what a great interview. You perked me up and made me want to listen until the end. I learned so much about you, maybe Secret Santa will send you some grits this year. Thanks, too, for mentioning me, my book, Cherries, and the Raters Not Haters show. I agree that people like RNH because we are not regimented and structured. Mistakes will continue, but that’s part of the fun. I’ve read all your books and look forward to reading your new ones. Thanks, too, for your help and support of the RNH shows…we are a good team!

    1. Good Morning, JP,

Thank you. Yes, I so agree that we are a good team. I like working together with people who are not afraid to share themselves. We are co-hosts together, which means in my arithmetical mind one half cohost + one half cohost= ONE HOST that displays on screen and off screen a cohesiveness that exemplies teamwork in the best possible way.I feel we are learning to be authentic with each other and with the show. And that brings much joy to the people who attend.

What I said in my interview about you and Cherries and the RNH show was real. I didn’t know which questions Madam Prez would ask me, and whatever I said was truth that flowed out of my heart.

I thank you for being patient with me and I look forward to each one of our RNH shows.

      Have a lovely day.

      Shalom shalom, My Friend

  2. Good Morning, Nonnie,

Thank you for your portrayal of me in Who’s On The Shelf. As I sat here this morning and watched the live show, in some parts I laughed and others I cried, especially when we talked about what writing means to me. I don’t usually take the time to sit down and think about who I am and what I do with another person. Sure, I communicate by writing my thoughts in my journal, but to talk to someone about who I am without fearing any repercussions, I don’t usually do. That is what brought the tears. I trust and value you as a honest person that has a heart that treasures people, and to hear myself talking about what I believe my purpose in life is brought the tears. In humility, I can say this live show was an honest portrayal of me, and it was a pleasure doing this with you. I thank you.

    Shalom shalom, Madam Prez

  3. Hi and Congratulations Pat! I followed your interview from beginning to end and was absolutely thrilled that you got so much out of my book, Joyce Winifred Harris Burkes, How I Remember My Mama. Nonnie took complete control of getting the Ebook published; and RRBC member Karen Black helped me get the paperback format done. It was something I always wanted to do and it took being in RRBC to get the job done.

FYI, Bridgerton has new episodes and I can’t stop watching although I tried.

In reference to Nonnie’s book Untitled, that book cover is phenomenal in a classy kind of way. I could stare at it for hours. It’s definitely a conversation piece.

Pat, I really enjoyed your interview and learned some new things about you. Again, CONGRATULATIONS!

    1. Good Morning, Shirley,

Thank you. Your book about your mother went down into the depth of my heart. I remember when I saw the film Hidden Figures. I went out and bought the DVD and for the first ten or twelve times, I cried through the film because I could very well relate to their being the first black women who opens doors into space. That they were hidden and that it finally came out into the open was because of one woman’s digging through time. So, I am thankful that you took it upon yourself to add to your family’s history, by doing research about your mother. It strengthened my belief that we as women of color have always been a necessary and essential part of society and always will be.

      Have a lovely day.

      Shalom shalom

      1. Pat Hidden Figures left me surprised and shocked that these talented, gifted black women were hidden. What a waste for the country. How many more black girls, or women in general would have considered the possibilities? Same with my mother. I was shocked when I realized that my parents were a part of a history that was not being told. I’m glad you spotted that discrepancy in my mother’s story.

I also felt your pain at having rocks thrown at you just trying to experience life. How very sad. You were so brave. I don’t know if I could have endured such humiliation. I have butterflies in the pit of my stomach just thinking about it. It’s maddening to think that a people can be that out of control of themselves.

Thank you for sharing with us. It takes courage to reveal such pain.
